Utility of Assessment Centres

In times of increasing cost-pressure, and with HR Departments slimming down as much as possible, the use of objective assessment is at stake as well. As with any other HR process, objective assessment needs to proof that it provides a solid return on investment. Luckily enough, the very nature of objective assessment as a decision support mechanism lends itself rather well to justification in financial terms—if you only get the necessary information together. This session will outline a number of ways to calculate the return on investment in objective assessment and provide some examples of the sort of figures that may impress the CFO.

Since 1983 with Credit Suisse in Zürich, as expert for Human Factors of IT-Systems, implementing the first Usability Lab in Switzerland, then responsible for Methods&Tools in Software-Development, then several years experience as manager of Software-Development Departments in Credit Suisse. Since 1995 Senior Manager in Human Resources of Credit Suisse, responsible for Human Capital Processes and Evaluation including Competency Model, Performance Management, Talent & Succession Management, 360° Development Feedback, Assessment Services (Assessment Centers & Individual Assessments), Employee Engagement Surveys.
