Leadership Talent Pipeline: Where Assessment Centres Can Help

Talent management has become a key strategic priority for many business leaders in recent years. This session will address the broad issues of successful talent management through the whole talent cycle of ATTRACT - SELECT - DEVELOP - RETAIN. The session will focus on how best practice assessment methods can contribute to all stages of the talent cycle, not just the obvious application to SELECTING talent. To illustrate this, the speakers will present a Development Centre that acts as the foundation for building a multinational company's Leadership Talent Pipeline. As well as assessing a set of Leadership Capabilities this centre was specifically designed to assess potential to make the turn in the Leadership Pipeline (Drotter, Charan and Noel's Leadership model). The centre specifically addresses the pipeline turn from "Manager of Managers" to "Functional Head". The centre has been run in the United Kingdom and in Asia and Africa, with delegates from every continent. The speakers will therefore also address the multicultural aspects of this approach.
