Who's Qualified to Train Assessors?

The Guidelines and Ethical Considerations for Assessment Center Operations document covers in detail what is expected of assessor-training content, length, and performance certification. The question remains: who is qualified to provide this comprehensive, rigorous training? What should the trainer's background and experience look like? Could there be legal ramifications to using an "unqualified" trainer? Should the qualifications be less demanding when assessment is used for development instead of selection? The panel will share its views on these and related issues, and will welcome audience viewpoints. This topic should be of interest to organizations that provide their own assessor training, as well as to those that out-source the training.
